From a parent: "Lisa has done a fantastic job working with our middle school son, in particular on his writing skills. Lisa is extremely well-prepared and can seamlessly juggle between her own writing camp lessons and actual school assignments my son is working on. Finally, Lisa is very personable, and can engage and motivate middle school kids, which is no small feat!" -Adam D.
From a student: "Lisa has really supported me as a writer and helped me expand my knowledge. She has taught me many amazing techniques and tips to make my writing stronger and more powerful. She is also super fun to work with and has a great sense of humor." Hunter L."

I consider it an honor to be in the company of children; I learn from them daily. Most of my over two decades of teaching experience is with 10 - 14 year olds because they are a fascinating blend of innocent and sassy. Maybe I click with them because part of me hasn’t matured past the age of twelve! I have a BFA in Visual Arts, a Masters in Education, but the most important parts of teaching I learned from the students themselves. I’ve had the pleasure of shaping Live Oak School’s middle school, working at the now defunct Windrush School, developing East Bay School for Boys’ early language arts program, and now find myself happily co-creating Crestmont’s middle school. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy writing books, biking, hiking with dogs, and writing and performing music.
